The goals Great Lakes School of Massage has for you are to provide students the knowledge and skills to:
1. Prepare you to take the Massage and Bodywork Licensing Exam (MBlex)
2. Enter the workforce and secure a job in the Massage & Bodywork profession
3. Move onto more advanced bodywork and/or specialize in a particular modality
There are over 200 recognized massage therapy modalities/methods

Our Accelerated & Hybrid Program
Great Lakes School of Massage prides itself on delivering a contemporary approach to outcome-based learning.
625-hour Therapeutic Massage & Bodywork Program, licensed by the State of Michigan.
Curriculum approved by the National Certification Board of Therapeutic Massage & Bodywork.
Students complete the requirement of their 100-hour internship onsite through Michigan Optimal Movement Center as a student-run clinic experience at GLSM.
Our students will graduate with an entry-level Diploma in Therapeutic Massage & Bodywork and will be eligible to take the Massage and Bodywork Licensing Exam, (MBLEX).

Kathy Richards-Allen
Campus Director &
Lead Instructor
Kathy has been a LMT for over 27 years and will continue to work in the profession she teaches. She has experience in the field of massage therapy as a therapist, and also as an instructor for over 17 years.
She is well-versed and diversified in all that massage can offer.
As our Lead Instructor, you can count on her to boost the group dynamic - and snacks are always welcome!
Sonya "Sunny" Young
Instructor
As the owner of Harmonious Health and Home, Sunny has an extensive background in everything from Bodywork to Aromatherapy.
She is a natural- born teacher that brings a thorough and loving touch to the classroom, and has over 30 years of teaching experience.
Zoey Sandahl
Administrative Director
& Clinic Supervisor
Zoey is the support for organizing what's needed for our staff and students as our Administrative Director. She has a background in personal training, Fascial Stretch Therapy, and became a LMT in 2023. She is the owner of Michigan Optimal Movement Center, and as our Clinic Supervisor, you can count on her to steward student confidence and skill as they complete their onsite internship.
